YB Kelvin Yii, DAP MP of Kuching - Several days ago we seen a video that was viral in social media where DCM Sarawak YB Awang Tengah was walking along the stalls not only not putting on face mask but distributed cash to stall owners. We didn't see him buying anything. There was a lady that gave tea ice but the 50 note was given to another person.
After being slammed by netizens then he admitted his mistake for not wearing mask and called by the police and will pay the compound.
The issue is that as a minister and a Sarawak leader, he should have been showing a good example. And he should pay whatever compound and also must face whatever laws just as what ordinary people.
10,000 ringgit is just a small amount to him. So he must prove himself by paying immediately and not just say it.
Police must show no double standard between VIP, leaders and ordinary people.
There was policeman and ADUN amongst the team and of them remind him and if he forgot to wear mask at the first stall he should realize it when attended the rest of the stalls
