Mr. Chambai Lindong, SDNU( Sarawak Dayak National Union) Sibu Branch Chairman, thinks that some longhouse folks are not taking Covid 19 presence seriously. For examples, they do not follow the SOP strictly, when cock fighting sessions are still organized illegally and longhouse gatherings are still part and parcel of their lives. There have been instances where suspected Covid 19 cases refused to take swab test. They do not realize that Covid 19 is not a normal or common flu. Mr. Chambai hopes that the Ministry of Health will explain how the swab test is carried out and its importance. He also thinks that the Health Ministry should explain the importance of the Covid 19 vaccination as there is rumour that some rural folks may refuse to be vaccinated because of the wrong information they have received or heard. He hopes that the rural folks will be more aware of the SOP and follow it strictly as the longhouse setting is favourable for the virus to spread
