Chew Choon Man was among the panel of lawyers who sued Zuraida (Former Ampang/PKR MP). During the "Sheraton Move", 11 PKR MPs left the party causing the ruling PH government to be overthrown. One of those 11 is Zuraida.
During the trial in court, Zuraida's legal team argued that the 10 million claim was too high and extreme.
However, PKR's lawyers argued that the damage faced by PKR was priceless. PKR has built the party's reputation over 20 years. PKR gave a place and a logo for Zuraida to compete. PKR supplies the election machinery, provides funds and full support. Therefore the claim of 10 million is too small. the loss against PKR is priceless. There are Malaysians who consider the PKR party to be the party that betrayed the people's mandate because of Zuraida and her friends' act of party jumping. Because of Zuraidah's actions, the administration of a kingdom collapsed.
In court, Zuraidah argued that she won because of her reputation, but GE15 proved that with the lack of support from PKR, she lost so badly that she lost her betting money. According to Choon Man, he and PKR's lawyers have been instructed to hunt down the remaining 10 traitorous frogs. On Friday 23 June 2023. The high court ordered Zuraida to pay RM10 million to PKR for violating the terms of the bond binding her to PKR.
