[TOP STORY]
After the PKR Special Congress a week ago, TUN Mahathir's attack on PM Anwar became more serious. Almost every day Tun M issued a statement scolding/objecting to Anwar. Among them; It is not wrong to topple Anwar if he does not govern well. Malay people are poor after I resigned. I have never been greeted by low-ranking officials when I went abroad (Anwar failed to meet King Salman/Saudi Arabia) and most recently TUN M sent a demand letter to the LOD asking Anwar to retract the "rogue" allegations - as said at the PKR Special Congress last week. Otherwise Anwar will be sued within 7 days.
All this was done by TUN M so that he remains relevant in the Malaysian political arena. It will be difficult for Tun M to win the suit, because Anwar's statement is in general - aimed at all politicians who enrich their families and cronies while holding high positions in the government. But what felt was Tun M. Today the leader of the opposition - Hamzah Zainuddin, president of PPBM and President of PAS failed to attend a special question and answer session with the Prime Minister in parliament. But in the absence of the PM they screamed in parliament. Today the PM confirmed that government parliamentarians were also investigated by the MACC and the PM explained that he had no problem with the appointment of the MACC chief commissioner appointed by parliament. All these reforms were carried out by Anwar to improve the administration of the country.
But the opposition chose the issue of Anwar's failure to meet the King of Saudi Arabia - King Salman Abdul Aziz. For the opposition this issue is important to be their campaign material in the elections in the next 6 states. Anwar will be portrayed as not well received by the Arab world. But according to Iswardy- there may be a communication problem. But there is no reason why Anwar cannot visit Saudi Arabia again and meet the country's ruler. To get an official answer from the government, the opposition should submit related questions directly to Anwar. The opposition failed and during the government they also failed.
