On The Show Tonight: Treating Us Like Children? Dayak campaigner John Brian Anthony lambasts patronising comments by GPS's James Masing who has just contended that if you give native communities titles to their own lands they will merely sell them for short term gain. He says for years the politicians have exploited Dayak lands and intend to keep them poor so that they can buy them at election time and that native people can do little with their lands (like restoring their illegally cut forests) unless they are given title. Cough up more money to measure out the plots under Section 18 says John Brian Anthony, noting that Masing himself enjoys a substantial land title! Also, the continuing struggle to run businesses under Covid - Puan Daisy from Sungai Asap who runs a lodging business near the dam site says the state government should step up to help encourage visitors when the crisis is over. And freedom of expression once more under threat? We speak to Ms Watshiah of the Centre for Independent Journalism about the shocking case of Ronnie Liu, arrested for sedition for commenting on Facebook about Thailand's protests against the monarchy in that country. This and more on the Sarawak Land Code online from 6pm.....
