Description

Taib is justifying 12 new mega-dams in Sarawak on the basis that it will bring 'development' and improve the lives of the rural people.

But, today we examine the plight of the community at Bengoh, whose local school was flooded by the new dam 18 months ago. Their children aged 6 upwards have now been forced to go to another school, which is more than 2 hours walk away from their homes! As a result few of the families are sending their children to be educated.

We ask surely, if such dams are there to improve people's lives, the 100 children who have lost their school in Bengoh can be given a new school based in their own community? If not what kind of progress and development have they received from this dam?

Also, we return to the issue of YB's massive salary increases, which turned out to be Taib's top priority after the election. DAP's John Bryan Anthony shares his thoughts.

And, two of PKR's defeated candidates reflect on the GE13 election outcome and consider the future of the opposition coalition. Will that coalition be joined by SWP (Sarawak Workers Party) at the coming state election?
