In this edition of Radio Islam we reflect on the passing of 69th anniversary of International Human Rights day by talking with Dr. Aminah Al-Deen (DePaul University)and Bakary Tandia (Abolition Institute Co-founder)& Minister Lynda Holiday Lawrence (Board Member of Abolition Institute) about today's fight for Human Rights in Libya & Mauritania, where slavery still exists.
CNN recently released a report showing "Open Air" slave markets in Libya. Regarding Mauritania, it is the last nation in the world to outlaw slavery, doing so in 1981. Even still, 10% of its 4.4 million citizens are estimated to be enslaved.
