definately on a kind of jazz & world music tip the first 30 but comin out of totally different corners....3 albums not leaving the cd player this week and beyond...Michael Olatuja's "Speak" and Shafiq Husayn's "En-A-Free-Ka" and Julien Dynes debut called "Pins & Digits" , one comin somehow out of nowhere and delivering the S O U L and the other with spaced out productions way into the future, boomin in the speakers. Deep. Like the third one by one of THE beatmakers of the now out of NZ, more afroinfluenced twists than his London and Vienna fellows.
And hypnotic - like the dance into trance tune by the Orchestre Poly-Rythmo out of Bengin, a tune i've been waitin for since ages now... And lovely, like the Patrice Rushen lovesong and YSE's contribution to a very nice compilation called DUCK on M8MC Music out of Derby. Mixed a bit of the new 12inch on Compost Records by AFMB - wait, A Forest Mighty Black? Welcome back with a bang. Joy & Pain in a new dress. . . .
Plus a kind of spontaneous and very nice mix by Onur Engin out of Istanbul who is the owner of Monotape Internet Radio, co-founder of Ubeat Records with Jay Scarlett and the musical director of IstanbulDoors Restaurant Group. He started djing, remixing & music production in 2006, right after he discontinued to his political science Ph.D in Sorbonne. His sample based electronic music is mainly influenced by jazz, funk, hiphop & house. Which you can hear in the mix , right? love that Bee Gees version by Cole Medina...where can i find this .... thanks a lot, Onur and keep Istanbul fresh with music. . .
