Hannah Leatherbury, E-services manger, Southern Arts Federation, talks to photographer and Mississippi chronicler, Ken Murphy. Born in Germany and now a resident of Bay St. Lois, MS, Ken has captured his time in Mississippi with thousands of photographs of the state, most notably of the Gulf Coast prior to Katrina. His photography books have been sited by Square Books in Oxford Mississippi as the best (coffee table) book ever done about the state of Mississippi. He is featured on the Southern Arts Federations adjudicated online artist registry, SouthernArtistry.org, (www.southernartistry.orgKen_Murphy) This interview features Ken talking about his work, his experiences growing up and serving as a 17-year-old tank commander in Korea, and his thoughts on photographing the great state of Mississippi.
