The 3rd Commandment defends the honor of God’s name. In many ways, we’ve reduced this command to a cussing issue (“As long as I’m not cussing, I’m okay”). While it’s good not to cuss, the commandment goes much deeper. This command is not directed at our mouths, but at our hearts. God is after your heart.
