Healthy Pet HQ loved having Silvie Bordeaux, creator of Muffin's Halo Guide for Blind Dogs on the show.
Silvie shared her story about the inspiration behind Muffin's Halo - the toy poodle Muffin who went blind two years ago due to cataracts. Her poor guy kept bumping into walls and falling down the stairs. He became very depressed and was afraid to move around. She could not let him out of her sight and carried him around everywhere.
She searched the Internet for solutions/assistance and found nothing that could help. That was when she realized the great need for products to assist blind and visually impaired dogs. So Silvie invented Muffin’s Halo Guide For Blind Dogs, a custom designed product to guide blind and visually impaired dogs. It safeguards them from bumping into walls, furniture and other objects. Now Silvie is developing a similar product for cats.
Once you hear her story, you will know that Silvie has found her calling.
And speaking of sight impaired kitties, Gwen Cooper's book, Homer's Odyssey, about Homer her blind wonder cat, teaches us that love isn't something you see with your eyes. I love this book!!
