In today's episode, we've got two great guests to speak to you about their new book. Dr. Jayson Calton and wife Mira Calton are leading nutritionists who have written two bestselling books on lifestyle and food choices. Their third, The Micronutrient Miracle: The 28-Day Plan to Lose Weight, Increase Your Energy, and Reverse Disease, is now available through Amazon, and the couple spoke to us about what micronutrients are - and how they fit in to your quest for good health and weight loss.

Under the guidance of Jayson and through a great deal of research and investigating, Mira was able to overcome her own struggles with osteoporosis and bring herself back to full fitness. This journey together has led to a partnership which now seeks to help others find their own way back to health.

Micronutrients are those essential substances the body needs to survive, and include vitamins, minerals, fatty acids and amino acids. Macronutrients, on the other hand, include the carbs and fats that we're often told to avoid. Mira and Jayson advise that finding a balance is essential: much like an orchestra needs the right number of instruments and for all members to be present, the body needs all of the right components and in the correct quantities if it is to do a good job. Having an excess of one nutrient but a lack of another is likely to cause damage, so finding a balance in your diet is vital.
