Elektronisch im besten Sinne ist die Musik von Daniel Leviez aka Dan’S aus dem ostfranzösischen Département Meurthe-et-Moselle – wer schon mal was von Nancy gehört hat (nein, nicht die Ex-Ex von Leonard Cohen sondern das Nancy): das ist die Hauptstadt dieses Départements.
FM: Was machst Du so außer Musik?Dan’S: Nun, ich bin Laseroperateur.
Elektronisch geht es also auch im Berufsleben von Dan’S zu.
FM: Warum stellst Du Deine Musik unter eine freie Lizenz?Dan’S: Die Musik ist ja nicht mein Beruf, deswegen. Und so kann meine Musik kostenlos gehört werden und sich frei verbreiten. Und außerdem schützen diese freien Lizenzen unter denen ich meine Lieder veröffentliche meine Musik ja auch.
Es ist mir diesmal echt schwer gefallen zu entscheiden, welchen Track ich hier vorstelle. Eigentlich bin ich ja nicht so der große Elektro-Musik Freund. Was man vielleicht schon daran erkennen kann, dass mir sogar das Vokabular fehlt, mit dem dieses Musik bezeichnet wird. Ich würde sagen im Zweifelsfall … Techno – (kleiner Scherz;) Aber Dan’S hat mich mit seinem feinen Händchen für die richtige Mischung aus funkelnden Melodien und tiefen Rhythmen echt überzeugt.
Ich habe mich letztlich für den etwas wärmeren der beiden Tracks, die mir am besten gefallen, entschieden: Jimi, den Dan’S für seinen kleinen Sohn geschrieben hat. Der andere Track, der mich fast zum Auswippen … äh … Ausflippen gebracht hat ist Marie, der genau wie alle anderen Tracks von Dan’S auf Boxson.net zu finden ist.

FM: What do you do besides musicDan’S: Well, I am a laser operator.
So not only the music but also the profession of Dan’S is quite electro centered.
FM: Why do you publish your songs under free licences?Dan’S: Music ain’t my profession. By using those free licences my music can be listened to for free and disseminate better. Besides those licences protect my music as well.
So this time I head a really hard time to decide which of the tracks of Dan’S I should introduce here. Actually I don`t like electronic music tracks that much (maybe I haven`t heard good enough ones till now) but Dan’S really has the right touch on making songs that surprise (at least me) with a gemmy melody, a great flow and niiiiice beats.
Okay, I took the warmer and slower one of the both tracks that made it into my top-two: Jimi which Dan’S made for his little son. The other – faster and a little bit harder – track that almost made me fall in love with fast electronic music is Marie which can be found like all other songs of Dan’S on Boxson.net.
