Was Yann Tiersen kann, das kann der 1968 geborene Emmanuel Codden alias Ehma schon lange. Leichtfüßig und wunderschön kommen seine Klaviermelodien daher und verzaubern jeden der das möchte.
Der Belgier hat mittlerweile schon sechs Alben veröffentlicht – alle unter der Licence Art Libre – und stellt Sie unter anderem auf seiner Homepage, bei Dogmazic oder auf Jamendo zum freien Download zur Verfügung.
Torsten: Warum hast Du Deine Songs unter eine freie Lizenz gestellt und wieso hast Du Dich dabei für die sehr liberale Licence Art Libre entschieden?
Ehma: Ich glaube, dass Wissen mehr Wert bekommt, wenn man es teilt. So denke ich, dass z.B. GNU/Linux die beste Möglichkeit für Freiheit in der Welt der Computer ist. So ist es für mich ganz klar, dass ich eine der liberalsten Lizenzen wähle um meine Werke zu veröffentlichen.
Torsten: Ist Musik Dein Beruf oder wovon sonst lebst Du?
Ehma: Jetzt arbeite ich als Informatiker, aber ich war eigentlich mal Fotograf. Musik ist für mich kein Geldverdienst, sondern einfach ein Platz um bei mir selbst zu sein.

Anything Yann Tiersen can do, Ehma can do much better. His piano tunes come along in the french easy weasy style: full of beauty and a bit fragile. The 1968 born Emmanuel alias Ehma has by now composed more than 40 songs and published them on six albums – all under the Licence Art Libre – and they are there for everyboady to download from his web site, from Dogmazic or from Jamendo.
Torsten: Why did you publish your songs under a free licence and why did you choose the very liberal Licence Art Libre?
Ehma: I believe that knowledge may get more value only if you share it. Like i think that GNU/Linux is the best opportunity for a free computer world. In that case it was obvious to use the most copyleft license to share my works.
Torsten: Is music your profession or what else you are doing if music is not your main profession?
Ehma: Now computer scientist but i was photographer. Music is just a place to me to be with myself.
