LEADERS MUST DO THEIR HOMEWORK TO BECOME PURVEYORS OF HOPE
“Perhaps you’ve heard the phrase, ‘Those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it.’ Perhaps you have even seen the reality of this idea prove itself out. Generational addictions, generational poverty, generational incarceration all seem to be hard cycles to defeat. Those same types of cycles are found in leadership, economics, geopolitics, local and regional governmental policy making as well. Leaders who feel confident to say, ‘I am not in politics, it doesn’t effect me and its none of my business’ are basically saying, ‘not my circus, not my monkeys.’ These are leaders who will effectively observe a public injustice and make a similar claim, not my fight and I know no one in the fight so it’s not my problem.’ Committed leaders will not settle here. They engage for change because they know it is their responsibility to lead.” J Loren Norris
