Steve grew up in the Salt Lake City area, graduating from Utah Valley University with the intent to pursue a career in psychology. Denied a mission for health reasons, at the age of 21, he left active church involvement to pursue same-sex relationships. When this failed to bring him the expected happiness, a failed suicide attempt resulted in a chance encounter with a hospital staff person who convinced him that hope and happiness could be found by returning to the faith of his childhood. With a firm belief that God loves us and is invested in every aspect of our lives, he wants people to know that there is resolution, hope and happiness for those who are willing to seek after it.
