Winter was pretty mild this year...until now. Ice, snow, and frigid winds have become constant nuisances on our daily commutes. It's no accident that when the weather is less than companionable, our food thoughts turn inward to heavier dishes that are either highly convenient, or easily accomplished at home, so we don't have to poke our heads out into the elements.
