Bringing the beats for our 64th edition of our mix series is aberdeen based LoFT (aka Michael Thain). Initially influenced by the techno scene in Scotland, and labels such as Glasgow's SOMA Records, LoFt usually sticks to his roots. Having developed a love for dance music through the small music scene up in Aberdeen, and eventually began to develop his own unique taste and style with the music. After developing an interested in electronica from the likes of Jon Hopkins, Moderat and Nosaj Thing, he began to focus on crafting sets that moulded atmospheric sounds with electronic dance floor orientated beats.
Ahead of an upcoming support slot for SOMA's Charles Fenckler, LoFT has been digging deep for harder beats, and this mix blends together some of his signature electronic sounds with heavy, peak time percussion.
All in all, a great addition to the Mantissa Mix Series from an underrated DJ.
