Bringing in mix number 65 in the Mantissa mix series is UK duo, Techník. They have gained a reputation for delivering sets with deep melodic sounds, and are inspired by music from all corners of the world. The duo are known for delving into hypnotic sounds to create sets that take you on a journey. Off the back of their closing set for Jonas Rathsman’s Elements Series in London, Techník bring you an hour of their unique sound.
They answered a few questions for us too, take a look:
"What angle did you go for with this mix and how did you put this mix together?"
We always treat a new Mix like a new project, especially for something like Mantissa, and that's exactly what we've done with this mix. We like to sit down, and go on the hunt for new music together, this is one of the most exciting parts about a new mix as we can envisage how we want to put it together and what could fit well with what etc.
We always try to make our mixes a bit of a journey with slow and fast parts, we like the listener to not know what's coming.
"What are Techniks plans for the future?"
Where to start ...
We'll be playing across some of our favourite venues across the summer including Ministry of Sounds, XOYO, and Amnesia Ibiza in September - we can't wait to get back to the White Isle!
Also, we'll spending a lot of time working on new material from ourselves, we have a special release due for later this year on one of our favourite labels so we can't wait for that.
Also, we will be working hard on our collective brand, Everything Will Be Ok (www.youtube.com/ewbotube), to move it into events and eventually a label - we know this will take time but we are determined enough to get it where we want to!
