Description

The Mazda 2 is in the second smallest category of cars in Australia. Called light cars
So far this year it is leading the sales race in this class This is a very competitive class
It is a very competitive field with 17 different cars in the sub category of vehicles under $25,000.
It is clearly sink or swim as there are another 5 models that have dropped out, through bad ales, in the last year.
The Mazda 2 was first introduced in 2002, although Mazda did previously have small cars by such as the 121 and the Metro.
The new model is the third generation to have the name Mazda 2.
• The previous model of Model 2 had been around for quite some time (since 2007)
• This latest model is all new. The fourth model and first subcompact to join Mazda’s line-up of new -generation vehicles that adopt the ‘KODO—Soul of Motion’ design language
• Full range of SKYACTIV Technology.
• 1.5 litre engine but a slightly higher tune for the up market models
• Skyactiv is good for fuel economy
• They have some funny names for their three models. The base model is called the Neo ( “new,” “recent,” “revived,” “modified,” - the most recent subdivision of a geological period: in chemistry - a combining form used in the names of isomers having a carbon atom attached to four carbon atoms), the middle model is called the Maxx (to reach a point at which no more improvement, profit, or benefit can occur) and the Genki ("enthusiastic, energetic, lively").
• 5 Star ANCAP - the previous model had one variation with only 2 air bags and so that variation made only 4 star rating
