You've probably heard of a trope in RPGs like Dungeons and Dragons called \"Combat, Diplomacy, Stealth\". It means that, when faced with a problem, you can either fight it head-on; talk your way out of it; or sneak your way around it. Well… life is kind of like that. There are going to be plenty of times where you feel like the only option is to just go full-on attack mode and fight through it—but most of the time, there's room for more than one approach. If fighting isn't working for you, maybe it's time to try talking instead.
Now if we take this concept and apply it to real life… say our problem is that we want to be healthier. We want to eat better and exercise more. Most people would say \"well, just do it.\" But there's usually an underlying reason for it not just happening - a benefit for maintaining the problem.
These are all things we go through when we're learning how to build discipline and motivation to make the changes we need to make in order to live the life we want. It's not just in your 20s or this year (2022), but a ripple-effect that acts as advice for yourself in the future as well!
So before you start creating a personal development plan, make sure you bring in these 3 approaches and dig deeper into self improvement tips using Combat, Diplomacy, Stealth aka 3 Ways to Improve Your Life With RPG Principles so you can have more flexibility and options when creating new habits, trying to fix your life, or problem-solving so you can live a #betterlife
