"Amazing Grace" is the title of a Christian hymn, a popular tune, particularly in the United States, where it is used for both religious and secular purposes.
The lyrics belong to a poem published in 1779 by English Anglican clergyman and poet John Newton (1725–1807).
The music is based on an old English-Scottish melody, “New Britain” and the musical arrangement took place by an American named, William Walker. The song has become an immensely popular hymn, accepted and very well known in the Christian community all over the World.
