Description

Eliezer ben Abraham Alantansí, 15th-century printer of Híjar, presents in this special episode Javier Bona López, the archaeologist and historian who has dedicated his life to recovering the memory of medieval Jewish quarters of Aragón.

Born in Borja (Zaragoza) in 1961, Bona López has worked for decades researching archives, measuring synagogue stones, and walking the streets where Jewish prayers once resonated. Founder of the Moisés de Portella Association in Tarazona, he has served as president of the Centro de Estudios Turiasonenses and director of the Tourism Board of Zaragoza Province.

His great innovation has been using new technologies to democratize Sephardic memory. He has created three major podcast series: "Desde Calatayud: Voces de Sefarad" (100 episodes), "Judería Medieval de Tarazona" (40 episodes), and "Judería Medieval de Híjar" (12 episodes). Additionally, he uses artificial intelligence to generate portraits of historical figures, restoring their faces and dignity.

Recently, researcher Noam Siena discovered a letter from Shaul HaCohen to Isaac Abravanel mentioning that Alantansí was in Corfu and Istanbul after the expulsion, serving as a physician at the sultan's court.

A moving testimony about the importance of preserving the memory of Sepharad.
