Description

The jump into Harmonium space should have been the easy part. Instead, it becomes a disaster. As the crew exits the spacebridge, another vessel barrels through the corridor at the worst possible moment. The collision is immediate, violent, and catastrophic—tearing the ship apart before anyone can react. In a heartbeat, the mission changes from escort to survival. Ejected into the cold void with systems failing and debris scattering in every direction, the crew scrambles to stabilize themselves, locate the Harmonium ambassadors, and keep everyone alive long enough to find a way out. No gravity. No safety. No margin for error. Just drifting bodies, dwindling power, and the fragile promise they made to deliver their passengers home. Because out here, even a single mistake doesn't just end the mission. It ends everything.

What is the Empire Of Rust Podcast?

TransMissions Podcast Network presents: the world's first and only Transformers RPG actual play podcast! Conceived, developed, and run by TransMissions Podcast producer and editor Michael Ordway (@minervion), this podcast combines the tabletop role playing game (RPG) experience (think Dungeons and Dragons) with the setting, universe, and characters of the Transformers into an actual play podcast. Each episode records the gaming sessions as the player characters experience the adventures planned and designed by the game master (GM). The RPG system being used is based on Starfinder, a sci-fi variant of Pathfinder, combined with elements of the Transformers-themed Mechamorphosis d20 system (more info here).

Empire of Rust takes place in the IDW Comics Transformers Universe that ran from 2005 to 2018. It is set at the beginning of the "First Strike" storyline that was published in 2017. But while the starting point is based on the events of the first issue of First Strike - where Earth is being inducted into the Cybertronian Council of Worlds - the story of Empire of Rust will be very different. So if you've read the comics, don't think you know what's going to happen!

The players have all created original Transformer characters to take part in this adventure, but they're sure to encounter some familiar faces in their adventures on Cybertron, and beyond.
