Lets say you were baking a cake and you just pulled it out of the oven. It cools off, would you just leave it there? Probably not. You would put it together - put frosting on it, decorate it, write a name and a message on. You would make the most out of it so that when it was time to serve and eat it, you will experience it in its fullness. This year's word is going to draw us into the arms of Jesus who listens with compassion etched into every line on His face.
Jesus, help me pay attention Your gentle nudges. Show me the word to choose for this year and help me dive into it- help me devote some time into it. Help me lean in even when it makes me uncomfortable. God you will prevail Amen
