Since this is the second of the two episodes Jim and Ray recorded, Jim mentions something spontaneous that happened during their break. Ray went out to smoke a cigarette as he usually does, only today he decided to put it down. Jim talks with Ray about his emotional response to this, and how cigarettes can become a symbol for something much larger .
Jim also expands more on what he said last week about how old mental programming from previous generations can be subconsciously controlling the dynamics of your current family. He talks a bit more about the disconnect he had with his mother, and how he started playing music to connect with his father. Ray also asks Jim some questions about Adam, and also about Jim’s relationship with his two brothers.
