For this episode of The All-Around Adventure Podcast, I'm joined by Kevin Estela, outdoorsman, author, and survival and bushcraft instructor
Kevin first fell in love with the outdoors at a young age kid. Being inspired by his father's World War II survival stories from the jungles of the Philippines. He later became a history teacher for 14 years, and along the way built a reputation as an expert in survival, fieldcraft, and wilderness skills. He is also the author of 101 Skills You Need to Survive in the Woods, and more recently Beyond the Field, plus over 150 articles in print and digital media.
In this episode, Kevin talks about his journey as an outdoorsman, how he transitioned from teaching in a classroom to teaching in the wild, and stories from his many adventures. We dig into real, practical survival and preparedness tips, from mindset shifts to everyday skills. Plus some of the often overlooked fieldcraft lessons that he's taught to his many students. We also talk about hope, perseverance, and what it means to keep growing and become more capable.
