Silmarie Rodriguez was born in Puerto Rico but moved to New York at a young age with her mother. She briefly returned to Puerto Rico and enjoyed spending time with her community there. She worked for several years in the Lancaster School District due to her appreciation of education and love for children. Silmarie has four children and is family-oriented. She has retired from the school district and now works at the Family Lancaster YMCA as a Welcome Desk Associate. Silmarie believes being bilingual has helped her make connections to other people both inside and outside of her job. She currently lives in Lancaster, Pennsylvania (which she has great pride in) but has lived in places such as Florida, Louisiana, and Germany because her husband was in the military.
