Unfortunately most of us will not go through life unscathed by hurtful experiences from the words and actions of other people. Things like betrayals, break-ups, and the loss of relationships that we thought were safe and "for forever," happen, and can leave us feeling deep, seemingly insurmountable emotional pain and grief.
