This is an episode that's near and dear to my heart. It's breast cancer awareness month.
For those who don't know, I'm a breast cancer survivor. In honor of raising breast cancer awareness, we've invited Jenna Russo to join us.
Jenna is also a breast cancer survivor and happens to be the stepdaughter of our friend, Betti Russo.
Jenna was diagnosed with Stage 2 triple-negative breast cancer as a young mom. Her son, Nicholas, was just six months old when she was diagnosed.
Jenna talks about her treatment, recovery, and life after breast cancer. Jenna's pearls of wisdom?
-
Advocate for yourself. No one knows your body better than you! Don't let anyone tell you you're fine. If you feel something, get it checked out.
-
If you do get a diagnosis, take someone to all your appointments. It helps to have someone else go through it with you.
-
Get your mammogram. Early detection saves lives.
