Today, we cover the 9 key things that all successful and fulfilled careers, companies, and lives have in common. Allison put together this list based on her own personal experience and the 10+ years she's spent as a recruiter helping grow companies big and small.   1. PURPOSEThe intention, aim, or function of something and the driving factor for actions, willingness, and goals. Think about your individual mission and what motivates you the most in your life.

 

  1. VISIONA guide for creating plans, setting goals and objectives, making decisions, and coordinating and evaluating the work on any project, large or small. A vision helps to keep organizations and groups focused, especially with complex projects. It also helps to guide decision-making to achieve the desired result.

Imagine the best possible future for yourself. Feel into this image and try to return back to it every time you feel unmotivated or stuck.

  1. VALUESValues are basic fundamental beliefs that guide or motivate attitudes or actions. They help us to determine what is important, desirable, or worthwhile to us.   1. INNOVATIONThe process of creating, developing, and implementing a new product, process, or service with the aim of improving its efficiency, effectiveness, or competitive advantage. How could you do things differently? How could you change the game? Identify the things in your industry that are outdated or broken, and think about ways to improve the process.

 

  1. GROWTHThe process of developing and improving. Sometimes it’s a process of adding, but sometimes it’s also removing the things that don’t serve us anymore.

 

  1. IMPACTA strong effect on someone or something. The action of one object coming forcibly into contact with another and creating a new outcome - may it be beneficial, harmful, good, bad, big, or small.A good exercise to see if what you’re doing has an impact on others is to think about what your loved ones would say about you at your funeral. What are the things you want people to think and feel about you? How do you want to be described?
