Coming from the corporate world of tasks and success, to full time motherhood my guest today stripped away this notion of having to be “professional” at all times. Through multiple learning curves, a community who believed in her, the help of a mentor and a deadline that spoke to her type A "get it done" personality. God has revealed a side to her that she has kept buried for quite some time. Beth Ann has become a children's book author.
We talk about unmasking that professional persona, and how this has allowed her to see her real identity and has freed her from the expectations of others.
We also talk about how easy it is to find ourselves on an island, thinking independence is a sign of strength and proves value. How “you did it” is not a pedestal we want to be on, it’s lonely and not life giving.
