Anti diet culture and intuitive eating always seems like something that applies to adults only, but the reason this exists is that as children we were most likely exposed to a mindset or an experience that forced us into an unhealthy food and body image relationship. In order to prevent damage in the future, what can we do for the next generation?
Enter Diana Rice, a registered dietitian and the owner of Tiny Seed Family Nutrition, and the founder of Anti Diet Kids. She specializes in helping kids and adults ditch diet culture and develop healthy relationships with food. She is a certified Intuitive Eating counselor and has trained with the Ellyn Satter Institute on child feeding dynamics.
In today's episode, Diana speaks on how you can start the conversation with children around disordered and healthy eating habits. She covers why parents need to introduce body diversity to children at a young age, developing a sense of resilience and unconditional love, and how to get your partner on board with promoting a loving relationship with food and your kids.
