Jon tells us that Bestwork Industries for the Blind is a self-sustaining manufacturing facility that provides job opportunities for people who are blind. Jon, a former Marine, discusses the company's products for the Army and Navy: textile apparel items, including fleece jackets, undershirts, t-shirts, running pants, and flight deck jerseys.
Jon mentions that starting pay at the Cherry Hill, NJ, facility is over $14 per hour. He says the company provides a free shuttle from Center City Philadelphia to the facility. Jon tells us the company's mission is to empower people who are blind to achieve economic independence.
