Everyone wants to matter, to be important, to "be somebody to somebody" in some context. This instinct has sometimes been misguided or exploited, but in its purity, it comes from God Himself. All of us were created in His Image and after His Likeness, and though we lost certain aspects of these, God is indeed GREAT; therefore, we are drawn to a sense of greatness ourselves. What a blessing it is when we learn that greatness is only found in Him and derived from Him! One of the ways that He unveils His greatness in us is through our fulfillment of His calling, our divine destiny. Each of us has been placed on the earth for the general purpose of knowing Him and making Him known. But, within the general purpose, there is a special purpose with specificity, an assignment.
