Description

Successful leaders wouldn't just give permission; they also receive it. Permission answers the question, "Do you mind if...?" Permission opens doors, safeguards connections, and keeps things moving forward. By requesting permission, you demonstrate respect for others. Autonomy is something that people naturally respect highly. Even if the subject of the talk we wish to have is in their best interest, people often resist our attempts to force them into a conversation. You'd be surprised how minor changes in how you start a critical topic can reduce defensiveness and improve the dialogue.
