Sometimes Christmas doesn't find us in our most ideal circumstances.
During WWII the small town of Wiltz, Luxembourg didn't have a chance. It had been overrun and occupied by the Nazi army. It had lost its male population, some being conscripted into the German army, some sent to concentration camps and others working in the resistance movement. Spirits were low. Christmas hadn't been celebrated in years.
