With a passion for education and helping women improve their ability to provide for their families, Dr. Maria Hesse serves as a Professor of Practice in the higher education program at Arizona State University and started a non-profit organization called Positive Paths which serves East Valley women who have faced daunting challenges through scholarship, mentoring and professional development programs. With more than 45 years of experience in the education and nonprofit sectors, Dr. Hesse explores the topics of identifying community needs, building consensus and creating community around positive social change. In collaboration with other influential female leaders in our community, Dr. Hesse has championed the need for women mentors and sponsors while advocating for access to education and improving educational outcomes for women. Listen as Dr. Hesse passionately shares her commitment to the women of our community, expresses her desire for continued focus and effort on women’s advancement opportunities, and the lessons she’s learned along the way.
