When you want others to participate, you need to invite this. You should not Take over. Being the guru can intimate others.
Create space for your audience to participate. Pause and allow space for contribution. Don't fill up the room with overwhelm, too much information, don't speak too fast and over power the presentation.
Sometimes communicate before the meeting your expectation of what participation looks like. Be flexible who you are being, so adjusting your behaviour for their style. Everyone likes people like them and we stare and stand back from people who are different from us.
