Tanis and Company aboard the Perechon are pursued by dragons. It turns out Kitiara isn’t happy about how Tanis left. Tanis is still trying to convince the rest of the Companions that he didn’t betray them. They seem skeptical now and that feeling will only grow. The ship, in vain, attempts to escape but only ends up being drawn into the Maelstrom at the heart of the Blood Sea. Tanis hopes, in vain, that Kit will not recognize Berem. Raistlin does recognize Kit. Tanis comes clean. It is not pretty. Despite the madness of the storm Kitiara continues to pursue them, Tanis asks for forgiveness. Many secrets are revealed. Raistlin abandons the rest of the party. Tanis and the remaining Companions are seemingly lost in the great whirlpool at the heart of the Blood Sea.
