Tanis and Kitiara get close, real close, and catch up. Kitiara spills the beans on Takhisis’ goals and urges Tanis to join her in fulfilling them. Tanis disappoints everyone with his decision. Meanwhile, Sturm’s elevation to full knighthood drives Derek Crownguard insane and completely shatters whatever semblance of unity the Knights of Solamnia at the High Clerist’s Tower had. This makes an already bad situation worse as the Knights aren’t really wanted by anyone in Palanthas. Laurana has brought the dragonlances to the Knights but most of the soldiers and knights don’t think they’ll be of any use, as they’re badly outnumbered and low on food. The Dragon army surrounding the tower seems content to starve the knights out…
