Quote: “I wonder how much of what weighs me down is not mine to carry”  ~Unknown

Listen into this episode as Sara, Lisa, and Kelly unpack this powerful quote, “I wonder how much of what weighs me down is not mine to carry.”  Lisa shares how her cancer diagnosis from 9 years ago was a real “wake up call” for her to have a new heightened awareness to how much of the stress she was having in the years prior may have been because she was unknowingly carrying the responsibility and concern for people and things that were not hers to carry.  Sara shares how she has felt weighed down when she has offered advice to a friend and then felt frustration when they haven’t acted on her advice.  Kelly shares how carrying the weight of her struggle with secondary infertility actually hindered her for some of the joys of being a mom to their son.  As the ladies discussed the “weights” we as women often choose to carry, they concluded by shedding some new light on a popular verse, “Love your neighbor as yourself.”  It is very easy to focus only on the first part of this verse, but listen in as they share insights on the last two words of this verse.  Honoring yourself is necessary before we can truly love others.

Lisa sums up their conversation with this reminder of what to say to ourselves when interacting with others:  “I did what I could.  I am releasing the results.  That is not mine to carry.”
