Toni and Emily are talking about the importance of enrichment for dogs. There are SO many ways to engage your dog in mental stimulation with items you have at home, to fun toys and puzzles you can buy at your local pet store. Providing mental stimulation for your pup can also help prevent unwanted behaviors. Mental work is always going to tire a dog out quicker and longer than physical activity. There are some incredibly intelligent dogs out there that need to be using their brain for their happiness and confidence and we will give you tips and tricks to easy ways to do this for them! 

• Emily and Toni talk about the simple things that you can do at home to boost mental enrichment for your dogs. From throwing a handful of kibble in your backyard so they have to sniff in the grass for their dinner, to using old kitchen towels for a puzzle and muffin tins. There are also fun games that you can do like hide and seek, and "find it" to grow that relationship and bond with your dog while you're asking them to think

• There are so many toys, puzzles, and activities that you can buy to support your dogs cognitive development! Puzzles are frequently used and available at any independent pet store, but they are something that requires supervision. Usually the first two times using a puzzle a dog is going to need some assistance and guidance. This is not only great for your dogs mental health, but a great bonding exercise as well. There are other tools from west paw, kong and licki mat that you can leave with your dog and walk away from. Enrichment is a fun way to be creative and bond with your pup!
