Greg Knott rejoins our podcast after his 10,000 mile solo motorcycle trip to the Arctic Ocean. We discuss his incredible journey- riding hundreds of hours through snow and rain, treacherous roads, camping by himself amidst the beauty and austerity of the vast wildernesses of Canada and Alaska. He purposely traveled without any distractions- no cell phone, music, podcasts or social media which allowed him the clarity and mental space to begin unpacking the imbedded trauma of 30 years of law enforcement work. We discuss how the processes of setting his intention to heal, sitting long, quiet hours alone with his thoughts and forgiving himself and others, finally allowed him to let go. But, in this healing journey, no one can survive alone, and as Greg encountered seemingly insurmountable obstacles in his path, guardian angels showed up unexpectedly at those crucial junctures and guided him safely home.
