Sunday, we had the opportunity to hear from a member of the Redeemer fam, Steve Cyrus. Steve kicked off a four week series for us on singleness and marriage. We also had the opportunity to welcome Pastor Jon back from his one month sabbatical! It was so good to have him back with us! 

 

Steve’s messaged focussed on 1 Corinthians 7:26-31. He emphasized what the scriptures teach us about singleness, what culture tries to tell us, and some practical ways we can embody this teaching.

 

One of the things Steve said that has stuck with me the most is his emphasis on seeking the kingdom of God as the most important thing for us, regardless of our relationship status. In his words, whether you are single or married is penultimate, the ultimate is the Kingdom of God.
