In this episode, Pete uses the analogy of a tsunami to discuss how to deal with what can feel like unprecedented and unsettling waves of change. As we know, in business, some people get destroyed by 'the tsunami of change' and other people manage to ride it out. Pete reminds us that even though change is inevitable and relatively unpredictable, it always has been and there are patterns to follow. So how do we work out how to be a 'surfer not a drowner'?
Pete observes that when the wave has already hit, it means sensing opportunities, taking off at the right time, and knowing not to look back. Because once the set is in motion, in the rush, it can be easy to forget or lose sight of what we are trying to move towards. Nevertheless strategy, even if redefined, can and should still be applied to the mid-term and the longer term. Your surfboard will be your values, your true North, and is often the best strategy there is, to get you on the best course, to ride it through.
On this podcast, Pete reminds us:
Pete, through 100X, shares some exercises, and questions, to help you re-identify or redefine your values and bring them to the forefront in your business so that you can remain clear on how to help your customers.
And remember, 'the lowest level of leadership is position and the highest level of leadership is influence,' So, if you're listening out there alone that's great but, if leadership is about influence you're going to learn how to do that best if you do that in community and those around you can feel the love.
Tune into this week's episode to learn how to use values to be the strong and faithful leader in your community that you need to be in times of change.
