On today's episode of Queerly Popular, we are talking about the 2022 book Blaine for the Win by Robbie Couch, author of The Sky Blues which I previously talked about.
Blaine for the Win is a book about a high school junior who is dumped by his boyfriend on their anniversary because he is not a Serious Guy (TM). So he decides to run for senior class president in order to get his ex-boyfriend back. In the process, he runs against his exes new boyfriend. Can we just say "Awkward!"
I really love this book and Robbie does an excellent job creating characters who are fun and engaging. It's formulaic, true, but it's formulaic in that good way that allows you to relax and enjoy the journey rather than constantly worrying about what is going to happen next. I highly reccomend reading this book.
On the 29th, we will be talking about the movie Hidden Kisses, which is a German language film.
