In Part 1, I tackle a listener question about how to stop comparing herself to other women. I contextualize where this behaviour stems from. Her parents projected their own insecurities onto her by using comparison to other children as a tool to affirm and uplift her. This had the opposite effect, creating a belief that her achievements only exist in competition and contrast with others', and that to be 'up' someone must be down. Moreover, this behaviour robs her of the opportunity to feel happy for herself and others, independent of jealousy. I detail an incredibly sobering tool I developed years ago that helps contextualize what one is envious of by humanizing the person in comparison. In Part 2, Taylor and Trent join me to discuss The Vow, episode 3.
