We're back! For our very first episode of 2026, we are looking back on what happened in the world of translation in 2025. And we are joined again by two returning guests, Sara Robertson and Fiona Gray, Chief Executive and Chair of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting respectively, to do it.

Sara Robertson FRSA FIIC

Sara trained as an architect at Edinburgh College of Art where she specialised in historic building conservation. She arrived at the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI) in 2023 having spent 20 years working in various training, policy and leadership roles in the historic environment sector. Although not a linguist herself Sara is a skilled communicator and a passionate advocate for professionalism.

Fiona Gray MITI

Fiona helps brands and businesses based in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Luxembourg to find their voice in English through creative copy and compelling content that makes their German words travel. She has over a decade of experience in the translation industry and has been freelancing since 2016. She won the ITI Mentor of the Year Award in 2023 and was named Linguist of the Year at the ATC Language Industry Awards 2024.
