Founding Maroon 5 with Drummer/Therapist/Author/Podcast Host Ryan Dusick

Ryan Dusick, the founding drummer of Maroon 5, registered marriage and family therapist, coach, speaker, and author, takes honesty and vulnerability to a whole new level with The Harder to Breathe Podcast. Each week, Ryan has tough conversations with his guests about the challenges faced by top performers and how to work through them. After years of struggling with physical and mental health challenges, Ryan finally began his journey of recovery in 2016, culminating in a new life path full of meaning, purpose, and fulfillment. While adding a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Pepperdine University to his bachelor’s degree in English from UCLA, he decided it was time to write his story: “Harder to Breathe: A Memoir of Making Maroon 5, Losing It All, and Finding Recovery” in hopes of helping others who might see themselves in his struggles.

Ryan’s journey illustrates the empowering philosophy that true solutions come from within, inspiring us to look inward for answers to life’s obstacles. By challenging his guests to look at themselves with self-compassion and without judgment, Ryan demonstrates that true growth and optimal performance come from inside. The Harder To Breathe Podcast inspires others to take back ownership of their lives, achieve lasting fulfillment, and realize their peak potential. Ryan Dusick hopes to spread the message that recovery is possible and that astounding things can come with it.
